Null Rod's flavour text is appropriate here.
Also, this would have looked so much better without any flaour text, just a 0 drop that had the indestructible mechanic written on it.

The best mox proxy in existence. It has the right types, cost, and art that is totally easy to magic marker into being the right mox.

Too bad sacrificing it will still cause it to die, otherwise there could have been some huge combos (Kuldotha Forgemaster)

My playgroup is strating to get frustrated with me one dropping phylactery lich with this and a dark ritual on turn one. I'm not. It gets even better when I pop a second dark ritual on turn two with a second land and drop obliterator. Makes me 'bout fall out my chair every time.
Also not sure if anybody ever noticed the relic on the card is about the exact size of your standard glass counter. A foily version of this with a phylactery counter on it with lich on the board just looks purdy.

I love cards like this that make you find creative ways to use them. Zero cost is always so appealing too.

I just imagine Wizards releasing the set, getting ready for the next one, and then one guy is like "hey, remember darksteel relic? We forgot to print the word 'artifact' on there."
He would be recieved by blank stares...
