Why is it that shades are always overpriced with expensive off-flavor firebreathing?

@SoulShatterer
I hope you're trolling. The shade ability is twice as efficient as fire-breathing. Granted, there are some overcosted shades out there, like Nightwing Shade, but this one is a really good deal.
@HuntedWumpusMustDie
You're completely missing the main strength of shades, and thus you're ignorant of how to use them, and thus you see no use in them.
The main strength of the shade ability is to be able to use any amount of extra mana you have laying around that you wouldn't otherwise use to buff up a creature. It provides extreme flexibility and a powerful, efficient, reusable buff.
Along with increasing damage for a powerful attack, the shade ability goes beyond fire-breathing to increase toughness as well, which can protect the shade from excess damage in a pinch, or create an emergency blocker. So, along with being an attacker with potential, this also makes it very resistant to burn damage, and a very flexible blocker.
There are some prett... (see all)

Why do they feel the need to make functional reprints of cards that are VERY far out of standard instead of just reprinting them, especially when the original has such a generic name as Dungeon Shade?

I really love this card. It has evasion AND an ability that allows it to become either a threatening attacker or a beefy blocker.

Play it, attack, and watch as blocking phases exponentially increase in time >:D
