Oh, it's a classic :) 5/5 just because of that. No actually, also because it's a great card.

Guys, normally people are filled with nostalgia about this card because they've used it so much.
I feel nostalgia about this cards because a lot of guys who used to be in my playgroup always played with this card.
We were mostly timmies back in the old days (some 8 years ago). Most of us had this and it even became VERY predictable as to what the guy's gonna do on T1.

Me : Plains, go. What deck are you playing with by the way?
Friend : My green/white deck. Forest and I play--
Me : Llanowar Elves, what a surprise.
The game starts with smiles on our faces because of this card.

I love this card because its simple but can be used in some devious ways!

@Deadhandlord7777
Um, no. Blocking does not cause creatures to tap. Never has. Attacking does unless the creature has vigilance. When you block, you can totally tap the blocking creature to use an activated ability.

Arbor Elf is returning in M13, probably to take this guy's place for a bit. Don't worry, he'll be back in M14.
@Dabok: More like:
> Me : Plains, go. What deck are you playing with by the way?
> Friend : My green/white deck. Forest and I play--
> Me : Llanowar Elves?
> Friend : Nope! Avacyn's Pilgrim (Or Noble Hierarch if said friend is the Monopoly guy)

I would bet that
>Forest, Landowar Elves, go
is the sixth most common first turn in MtG, after
>Basic Land, go
for each of the five colors. What do y'all think? And yes, I spelled it Landowar on purpose.

This is great ramp. Getting one in your opening hand is extremely powerful. You can really put your opponent in a bad spot with a turn 2 Leatherback Baloth
