I don't like the argument that this card is bad because it is not an instant. Every sorcery would be better if it were an instant, but sorcery is an important card type in magic.
That said, +1/+1, first strike to all your creatures for 1RG Doesn't seem like all that savage an offensive. Really is only worth casting if you have 3+ creatures on the board ready to attack (which isn't necessarily difficult). At that point, however, may as well overrun.
