@nopemx6 Actually if you simply decide not to pair the silverblade paladin to anything when it etb than when the angel hits the board it'll be free to pair up. Which does indeed produce an angel with double strike.

A fantastic addition to Knight tribal, and one of Soulbond's poster children. Double Strike is already a scary ability, but giving it to two creatures? For 1WhiteWhite? And one of those could be a Wolfir Silverheart or a Pathbreaker Wurm? I rarely got the chance to play the Paladin at the prerelease, but he won the game every time he hit the board.

This card plus Invisible Stalker and Silver-Inlaid Dagger equals a whopping 8 damage from a single swing of stalker by turn 4 at the earliest.

@nopemx6:

Actually, MyHappySandwich's plan works just fine. Drop the Geist of Saint Traft on turn 3, and make your opponent hate you more by dropping this fellow turn 4 and NOT soulbonding to the Geist. When Geist attacks, this triggers the 4/4 Flying Angel to enter the battlefield tapped and attacking, which triggers another "dost thou desire to soul bond?" trigger. This time, you gleefully accept, producing your turn four 4/4 Flying, Double Strike Angel of doom swinging in.

The best part is that once the angel token is exiled at the end of combat, Mr. Silverblade Paladin here is now unpaired, and free to be paired with the next 4/4 Flying Angel produced on the next attack, and then on the Second Main Phase of turn 5 with your new jerk of a 5/3 Flying, Indestructible, Double Strike Angelic Overseer (Yay for this guy being a Human!).

...Unless you were just saying you wanted Taft to survive due to Double Strike, in which case sometime... (see all)

Leads to a lot of free wins with Boros Aggro in block (and maybe even standard) with stuff like:
T1: Champion of the Parish
T2: Gather the Townsfolk, attack for 3 with the Champion
T3: This guy, bond it to the Champion, attack for 10 with the Champion/Tokens
T4: Angel of Jubilation/Hellrider, get in there for a million

The Scars/Innistrad standard pairing for me would be Accorder Paladin. On turn 4, you'll be swinging for 12 damage total, +whatever battle cry did for your other creatures.

Excellent card. So very affordable. Yes, pairing him with the big green baddies is the obvious choice. Pairing him with the Red vamps in the set like Havengul Vampire makes them all like Markov Blademaster.

I wonder if the Silverblade/SIlverheart naming thing was intentional...
