Thran Turbine can be nice in a mercenary deck, as it lets you recruit more cheaply. It wipes out half of the Raptor's upkeep afterwards, and how can a cheap 4/3 Flyer with First Strike not be a threat?

doesnt seem horrible. not very good. but in limited i could see him being a pretty big beast for the few turns you have it on table.

Desperately needs haste, so much that I pretty much assumed it until I looked closer.

It's funny to look at the drawback on this card compared to modern creatures like Phyrexian Obliterator. Still he used to wreck face in my MBC/Sligh deck. Esp when I'd give him Grafted Wargear.

4/3 flying and first strike in Black!?! For 4 mana, deserves 2,5/5 for the rarity of these ability in Black... (and you can put it into play in a flash form with some other Mercenaries from this block...)

Reminds me greatly of the Mahar - a giant reptile/bird that uses psycic powers, as feaured in 'Tarzan - the epic adventures', and 'At the earths core' by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
For that alone I give it a 4/5, it would be great if thats what the artist was aiming for.
The upkeep is kinda harsh but for first strike, it can beat a great deal of flyers and boasting toughness 3 will keep it clean of most damage spells.
