Because jumping off a cliff is something Serra wants us to do.

I love using this guy in multiplayer, it's like holding everyone hostage.

Plainview: I'd like you to tell me that you are a false prophet... I'd like you to tell me that you are, and have been, a false prophet... and that God is a superstition.
Eli Sunday: ...but that's a lie... it's a lie, I cannot say it.

I have decided this guy is named Bob. Why? He kind of looks like a Bob. Also, its really fun to shout, "Beware the Wrath of Bob!"
Classic board intimidation if ever there were. Costs the same as a Wrath of God, but removes things way more permanently with the trade-off that you have to find some way to kill it. Plenty of options for that: attacking, blocking, Doom Blade.... My personal favorite method is "sacrifice" costs like Fling: because they're costs, rather than effects, your opponent(s) can't bounce/exile/etc. the prophet to stop it from telling everyone else to do the 200 meter dash off of a 7-foot-long ledge. They can still respond to the effect itself of course, but that's usually a lot harder to do.
@SkyknightXi: Yeah, flinging yourself from a cliff wouldn't really make Serra feel all warm and fuzzy, but then again this guy is a False Prophet for a reason.

Committing suicide for love...? That's more likely to incite horror in Serra than appreciation...Eventually, we need a flavor text for a future white or red/white card along these lines: "The one willing to risk martyrdom is a hero in the making. The one who desires martyrdom is a fanatic already made."
