Kryptnyt is right, EvilCleavage is wrong. As the controller of both triggered abilities' source, you decide the order they go on the stack. Just put the discard on top of the gating and you're good.

Because you put this in your deck you can plan on the discard. There are many ways to get advantage from forced discard.

You can choose to discard before the return.

Doesn't really lool like a croc; it looks more like a giant lizard, sort of.

This guy sucks. Say you play this guy and he's the last card in your hand. Nice, you get a 4/4 chunk, not common in Blue or Black. But then you have to return a creature to your hand. Oh, but wait that's not all! Then you have to discard the creature that went back to your hand. This guy sucks. The only way I think he could be good is if you had a Blue or Black token in play that you could afford to lose.

Meh. I don't feel strongly about it one way or another.

use this with madness cards.

grave scrabbler negates both the return to hand and discard, AND tacks on a raise dead affect. net result: extra 4/4 on field 1 less card in opponent's hand. Effectively you're +2 cards, one of which is a 4/4 beatstick.

This does require 6 mana however so your opponent might not have a hand, and if they do it's probably a counter or go for the throat.

6 mana for a 4/4 cantrip that requires other cards is the type of thing that is gilbic.
