I love it when for whatever reason the Oracle ruling writers decide to slip outside the encyclopedic voice and just break it down for us all casual-like:
"This could be bad for you if Wild Beastmaster’s power was negative."
This could be bad for you, friend. Bad indeed.

Play with Beastmaster Ascension. It's like they were made for each other.

Can anybody breakdown how this card would combo with Kalonian Hydra for me?

Well in a Selesnya Populate deck running this with Chorus of Might once netted me an army of 23 5/5 Wurm tokens with trample from Armada Wurm, and I ended up with Beast master at 25/25 and a slew of 29/29 wurms with trample to swing with.

Fun card. You have to appreciate how straightforward the rulings text for her ability is: "This could be bad for you ..." Considering that some rulings text is borderline unreadable, especially for newer players, this card's ruling and explanation are a refreshing introduction to how the stack actually works, and clearly the artwork is a cautionary tale to further exemplify this worst-case-scenario of her getting downsized. But, I do believe she has a very safe home in a GB deck where impossible-to-respond-to (and free!) insta-sacrifice abilities can reliably protect her; in other words, since sacrificing as an activation (or casting) cost doesn't use the stack, just throw a copy or two into a GB deck that wants to feed off of its own. And her last known power still gets to be checked for all your other creatures. Still though, "This could be bad for you ..."

@toddie if beastmaster has no counters , hydra gets +x+x, where x is beastmaster's power . if beastmaster does have counters, its counters are doubled, then it buffs.

@SyntheticDreamer I would say that Wild Beastmaster is Champion of Lambholt's SECOND best friend. BFF status goes to Nacatl War-Pride.
