This would have been one of my favorite cards had I started playing two years earlier.
Sure it's somewhat risky, but just think of turning any Dragon Fodder into a Phyrexian Arena. This is the sort of card that I usually build decks around. Though admittedly, sometimes my attempts ended up something I totally ignored, which might have been the case if not drawing a card for the turn weighed this down too much...

Well, you could still tap all your dudes in response to the WoG, thus draw some creatures, play them next turn and keep drawing. But most likely you'll have a non-creature token producer anyway, like squirrel next. Then the WoG slows the deck down but doesn't stop it completly.

I guess the card is average. Any effect that reads "1: draw a card" is pretty strong. Play it with seedborn muse.

Pretty much any 'skip your draw step' card is just begging for a Wrath effect.

That being said, if you have the common sense not to play this against decks that likely have loads of removal, this is one of the better, non-Necro, non-completely broken, skip your draw step cards.

Wrath of God - all your creatures are gone and you can't draw. I win.

Seems to go good with exalted, as it's a static effect so your creatures are free to tap.

I will agree, having your creatures nuked would be bad for this card but anyone using an effect as risky as "Skip your draw step" would be smart enough to have a way out... right? My old recycle deck i used to use ghost towns to avoid a lock. You could use faith healer? Anything to sac it or bounce it? I hear crickets....bah.

If you have 4 creatures in play, attack with them and play Overwhelming Instinct instead.

When I first saw this, I thought that it was awesome!!!! Then, I saw the "skip your draw step" clause. It's pretty good, and it would be great in my playgroup, we don't have any wrath effects, but overall, kinda meh.

3.5/5

Yes, this is an instant loss to Wrath of God or similar effects, so it will never see competitive play where everyone and their brother runs wrath effects. However, due to the general rarity of wraths and the expense of good ones, this card's bane is not seen so often in casual, allowing it to truly shine. A saproling swarm, or even a mass of elves, can benefit by running this and knowing when to cast it. And it's not like we're without ways to make an army vanish for a moment, then reappear(less tokens) when the danger has passed, allowing wrath insurance in richer and more competitive kitchen-table environments.
