Death ain't bad; a strictly-worse Reanimate is still a decent card.

A staple in Cadaverous Bloom plant-zombie theme decks, which exist because it's okay to play fun noncompetitive EDH/Commander decks, thank goodness.

Either of these effects could be used to swing the game in your favor.
As scumbling1 said, a strictly-worse Reanimate is still great (especially since it still is on-curve to follow Entomb/Careful Study/Faithless Looting; for the formermost, it still pairs off on turn one with the aid of a Dark Ritual). And, as A3Kitsune mentioned, turning all your lands into creatures, even 1/1 creatures, for just can be a game-changer, especially with Beastmaster Ascension, Garruk Wildspeaker, or Serra's Blessing/Angel's Trumpet/Akroma's Memorial + Echoing Courage or something like that that could pump all your new critters at instant-speed.
It's powerful and diverse without being broken. I'd play it.

Land stampede! Beastmaster Ascension and this is 'Game Over' for your opponent.

i think life is a very solid card in a deck based on forests and amps, like primal bellow and that spell that gives a creature +1+1 for each creature u control. just play lotsa land ramp, creature spam, play ur life, sneak in ur primal bellow and that other one and u get two lots of wamey.
unfortunately no blocking tricks with this card unless u have quickens handy but still a good card to have after a w.o.g. effect.
Death, just cos there is 'reanimate' out there does not make this card bad, only a sorcery but thats completely reasonable and i would have no problem playing this in a deck with life gain, maybe some life link creatures.
but when do you play both of these cards at the same time in a deck? perhaps a deck with weany over run and a few fatties to pull the weight, but u loose a fatty to kill or something and instead of swarming for one turn it's better to get the fatty back. who knows.
the fact that this card gives you two options for one card slot in your deck makes it extre... (see all)
