@Lifegainwithbite: I imagine the laughter was you realising your plans all went awry as you discarded said Land and Gut Shot.
As for this spell, sometimes it's nice just to play it when things are going horribly wrong for you. One last hurrah for when everyone else in multiplayer has beaten you to death.

For all you people saying to use an oblivion ring on your own perms, well that is a terribly inefficient way to play. Rather, use thragtusk or something thats not going to be setting yourself back in hopes that this gos off.

Application for sure win in multiplayer (no matter how many players):
- Cast Lavaborn Muse
- Use Oblivion Ring on Lava Muse (or use a similar card to oblivion ring).
- Cast Worldfire, oblivion ring is exiled and Lava Muse enters the battlefield again and you give over your turn to the next player = You win!
