The Simic have the best creature types.
That said, this is a decent blocker, but if you can evolve it it gets better.

Etymology: "anura" means "frog"
I really like this card. Creature types, art, abilities. It'll be useful for Simic.

So according to the art you can block a Bird of Paradise... value!

so it's a giant spider if you have another creature in 1-2 turns and it costs 1 less... and can get larger... amazing in limited, solid in edh. decent reach creatures in green is super desirable. and you can still throw this in a gruul deck.

One of a few reach creatures in Gate Crash makes this guy a decent selection in limited, especially with the emphasis on evasion when making picks.

You play one creature, any creature, with power of two or more, or a toughness of five or more on the turn after this, and it is a superior Giant Spider for less.

This thing is really what makes a good simic deck tick. The mortar that keeps it all together. Big enough to trigger some of the smaller evolvers, and small enough to easily become a giant spider, green draft workhorse extraordinary.
