The clearest use for this (like Absorb Vis) is for the Landcycling.
Unfortunately for this, the Landcycling is much more obsolete than Absorb, since Black doesn't have one-half as many ways to look for lands as Green does.

Card is vastly underrated in draft, at least in Modern Masters. I've had the 8 life save my bacon during a board stall, and the fixing is perfect for the draft deck that wants it. (5 color)

Well, uh...at least you can get the land at instant speed, and it can't be countered as easily...
...because your opponent will usually want to counter your Giant Growth...
...also, you can alternatively get some lifegain out of it in turn 6 or later...
That's worth something. Especially in a set like Modern Masters. Right?
...right?

By far the worst of the cycle: pure life gain is bad, this is way over-costed, AND green doesn't need the landcycle.

Much better than Natural Spring in my opinion, as it has both the option of landcycling it (which, as we all know, is its primary use), plus it can be played at Instant speed for only more.
