The new art fits well, Tarmogofy looks like a unstoppable beast, and that's because ...he is

Finally, we have a version of goyf with comprehensible artwork. The flavor text is great, although I miss the reminder text (very useful when showing the card to people unfamiliar with it).
Hate it all you want, but it is still one of the best creatures in the game and it is still going to win big events.

"Show me a creature as big, as cheap, as splashable"
True, but he can still be countered, still be destroyed through other means, bounced easily, very vulnerable - nothing in addition to the P/T ... erm ... bonus.... (no trample, hexproof, etc)...
Don't get me wrong, CMC (splashable CMC) is amazing for something like this, whose P/T is so dynamic... I think, however, people look at the P/T potential, or rather the dynamic nature of the P/T, and the price tag of the card, and miss out/ overlook the many vulnerabilities that make it so you actually have to have some degree, however small or large, of care in when to use this creature. too much "ZOMG CHEAP POWER" and not enough "Wow, potential to be big, but has some serious vulnerabilities, gotta take care and use this when the time is right."

Not entirely. They should at least be more committed to green if they want that. This card is splashed into a ton of decks since it is so easy to play.
I gotta say I love the new art. You can actually see that it's a monster. The old art always just looks like you are zoomed in on a little bug or something.

My friend had been using multiple accounts to hate on this card. I went into those accounts and fixed it so all ratings of 0.5 were changed to 5. Your welcome.
And no, I don't plan on forgiving him for this anytime soon.

Time to go buy some packs as soon as Modern Masters comes out.

My God, stop hate-rating. It's a freaking Tarmogoyf. It gets a 5/5 from me, and don't you think a lot of people would be complaining if this wasn't reprinted in this set?

This is what should be all about - low-CMC efficient fatties.

When this card was printed in Future Sight, I commented that Tarmogoyf would never be reprinted due to its degenerating power level, much like Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
Logically speaking, I was right, but I underestimated the popularity of Modern format that eventually made Wizards reprint Tarmogoyf. Sometimes profit has to be top priority, same reason why Jace wasn't banned till the end of the season before his set was rotated out. Countless people bought a whole box of Worldwake just to find a copy of Jace, imagine the surplus for Wizards.
