This is possibly the worst core set for red creatures new players might think canyon minotaur is playable after all of these monstrosities.

That is... NICE art. Seriously, that's some very vibrant colour work going on there.
Should've been 5cmc. Possibly passable at 6cmc with a toughness 3 restriction. Pity, he does begin to edge into interesting territory...

@MrShinyObject: There is a difference between creatures being hit with "damage" and "destroy" effects. A card or effect reduces damage by a certain amount, it's not going to stop it from being destroyed by anything else. For example, red removal effects typically deal X number of damage, while black removal will work in spite of total toughness (as long as the creature is a valid target).

Man. Another awesome art wasted something that will never see the light of play.
I'll give it credit for being one of red's few direct creature destroyers. That would probably explain the cost, but it unfortunately kills the playability.
If this thing costed even {4}{R}{R}, I would like it so much more. It still wouldn't be great, but then I could justify myself playing with it, if only because it looks cool.
But 7!? Hell no. Moving on.
