No Eternal Blue, this is a card from Shards of Alara block, one of the very first sets I played with. It's quite weird to say that there have been....gosh, 12? 15? sets since then, not even counting Duel Decks. o.O But this is not a preview.
Also, if you look at cards in M13 and M14, like Disciple of Bolas and ahh, forget it's name, but I think it started with Hex? Color Palettes are a neat topic of study-- you will often notice gray being used for blue, and purple being used for black. Purple is the color of so-called 'black light', and anything in Black that is supposed to glow with magic 'aura' (see Jace Beleren for a magic hand aura and Liliana Vess for Black's version) will probably use purple!

Is this a subtle Easter egg letting us know what the next set is going to be about? It appears that purple mana may replace black mana. I know I was a little iffy about the enchantment creatures in Theros but I honestly don't see how they can replace an entire color without alienating a large chunk of their audience.

Well, this has been basically an EDH staple for years now. It's nice, it's pretty cheap, and it pretty much never draws hate. Good enough for me.
