Easily one of the coolest cards from a flavor standpoint, up there with Bearer of the Heavens. It also helps that he's kind of useful, especially with a Springleaf Drum.

Slap both mantles (paradise mantle & umbral mantle) on him, pay 1 mana and boom, anything you want off the field is gone, and you get a left over gold pony so you never have to pay the 1 mana to start it up again.

Also I want an altered art of this guy with skittles everywhere :)

It's a may clause because he doesn't have to touch anything. If they took away the may cause, this would need to be a 4/3 or be unblockable or something that would make this card too powerful. It's balanced well and the flavor works.

In other words, I would make this thing my commander and give it Whispersilk Cloak. Wish it were 2BW or 1WBB just to make it gold and give it more options in edh.

Ritocure... You are flavor fixing a card, that you're misinterpreting..

Midas TOUCHED things, they turned to gold... This card untaps (no combat, no touching)... so, I see no issue with the flavor... if it says dealt damage, combat, attacking or blocking, etc, sure, but it doesnt...

As to your, make him a gold card so he can be gold, haha makes sense...

In my playgroup we've house ruled that it's a must not a may ability.
