A. Ophidian, Shadowmage infiltrator, etc nets you a card when it successfully attacks without being blocked. Not a samething as whenever it taps.
B. There aren't many cards that give player card advantage EVERY TURN just by tapping for 4 mana.
C. Wizard is awesome creature type.
D. At turn 5, this card + Cerulean Wisps = draw 3 cards
This card + mind over matter = draw x cards and discard x cards

So how the hell are you comparing this to Ophidian?

who ever rated this 5 stars is retarded. 4 mana for a 1/1 that draws cards is just to fragile, small, and expensive for so many other cards that do the same for less. like ophidian.

I say "meh." Even replacing this with a simple "Draw 3" spell seems preferable. It's not the worst, but I gave it a low rating for the sheer slowness of it. Were it a 1/3 I might be more forgiving, but it dies to *every* form of removal, including single pingers, Riot Spikes, and similar. Compared to something like Azami, we see that it takes very little mana to get a huge difference in effectiveness.

Something like Fallowsage is also a good example. It can attack or utilize other tap abilities to draw the cards while being out of range for the lower removal/ping types. I don't know, this just seems bad to me.

While the wizard may be played like an enchantment that puts an additional card into your hand each turn (which is considerably potent), he goes beyond the skillset of an enchantment because of his ability to chump block.
