Could be interesting in a Stasis deck.

The Stifle alternative is possibly the best combo with that card and was a nice Standard combo back then, yet in Extended it's not that great, i'd preferably play Phyrexian Dreadnought with Stifle instead.

If you're a little short on stifles and you want to impress your friends, cast 2 Final Fortunes before playing this card. You'll skip the turns that would kill you.
Of course, that would mean you've paid 8 for this creature, and used up 2 extra cards, but your opponents will never see it coming.

Opponent: Eater of Days, no fancy tricks, ETB effect resolves. I was expecting a Stifle or something, he had a couple lands untapped... so I just stare at it a moment, bewildered, then look up at him. He's staring at me, revealing a hand with Force of Will, two Spell Snare, High Tide, Mental Misstep, Meditate... and Reset.

Summoner's Egg the Eater of days, Bazaar Trader it to an opponent, Shattering Pulse, in the 'extra' two turns you get, Mark of Mutiny or Dominus of Feality back to yourself with a Bazaar Trader for permanent control. Throw in a Capsize to get the Summoner's Egg back.

Attempt to play this in a legacy stifle phyrexian dreadnought deck, and it will become the Eater of Daze.

Just use Stifle on its CIP ability and you'll have a massive creature for cheap with no drawback.
