To counter your comment, while it is reusable for sure, for 5 mana to destroy a creature there is many alternatives. Its big bonus is that its colorless destruction, something which is usually lacking from direct kills (AKA black creatures and artifacts are a bit harder to nuke).

I think Callipsa meant that it can kill colorless creatures iow artifacts.

Speaking of the casual table, Brass Squire turns this into a much more viable kill engine, and curves well into a surprise play. (Turn 2 creature, turn 3 squire, turn 4 play this, equip it to the turn 2 creature and kill something.)
Via the "colorless destruction" comment: Two important points here. First is that there are no restrictions on the effect (except of course for shroud/indestructible/protection from the attached creature) and second, it can go in any deck (blue or green can get a destroy engine.)

It isn't colorless destruction, Callipsa. The creature that is equipped gains the ability, it isn't Heartseeker's ability. So if you equip it to a white creature, it's a white ability.

On a casual table where games tend to go longer, this can be devastating to morale.

EDH... My god, the power, the power of this is hard to underestimate! Targeted killing for 5 mana and a creature tap? YES PLEASE! Auto-include in any EDH deck with creatures.

Puresteel Paladin makes this card go from dreadfully slow to downright terrifying.

This is not that expensive, for something that will continually kill anything (pretty much), with a token... or smaller
