I look at Shepherd of the Lost and back at this card, and I wonder whether there was a typo in the mana cost.

Because a 3/3 five-drop couldn't simply get flying by default. That stands to reason.

I'd enchant it with Flight, just for the lolz.

Yes, the card is bad, but dear lord the flavor text...

Also compares badly to Thran Golem, absent any Shatters.

... Why couldn't it have flying to start with? Or first strike?

UGH, I meant to say "eager" trainee, of course... stupid typos.
For a real laugh, compare to Baneslayer and then cry a bit...

It's really sad when a White four drop is worse than Angel of Mercy.

Useless soldier, and you call yourself a trainee. Angel of Mercy is so much better because it actually gets flying AND you gain 3 life. How pathethic.
0.5/5 stars. Completely useless and you've gotta be out of your mind to actually play this in any format.

@daedalus25: I feel I do that a lot with new vs. old cards... I've been playing since ice age, and mana cost has been messing with my brain lately
