With Pain Mag and Megrim out, Blightning can hit for 9 damage and three cards for only three mana.

This + Megrim + Furnace Of Rath = chain reaction.

Note, this card only affects opponents. Bad in that it doesn't let you discard when you take damage, for whatever reason you would want to do that, but good in that it's very effective in multiplayer. Just putting it down and doing nothing will cause at least 6 or 7 cards worth of discard through the course of an FFA EDH game, as everyone attacks the player who just played Vorinclex and your opponents hack it out amongst themselves. It becomes even better still when you're running a lot of 3 power creatures, like Beast tokens from Garruk Wildspeaker or Graveborn tokens from Sek'Kuar, Deathkeeper. In fact, it's almost good enough to be in every EDH deck that's into these colors. It's that good.

Is it me, or this can deal an ungodly amount of damage in multiplayer?
Damege doesn't have to be dealt by a source you control, so whenever someone gets hit, they have to discard.

Makes Blightning even more fun. 3 damage and 3 cards? YES!

@majinara
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's not a chain reaction. A single Megrim only deals 2 damage when they discard. Even if you have two Megrims out it won't turn into a chain reaction because Pain Magnification states that the opponent must be dealt 3 or more damage from a single source. Each Megrim is a separate source.

A pretty damn good card for black/ red beat-down. Even in 1 v 1 if you get it out early they will probably lose 4-5 cards due to this, and in multiplayer it's even stronger. (Also there is a way to do a chain with this Megrim, Akki Lavarunner, and Chaoslace, but it would be incredibly difficult just to do "target opponent discards their hand and loses 3 life per card" and you would still need something to start the reaction)
