Those guys in the art have both flying and horsemanship. Talk about hard to block.

I would have loved a Sleep reprint, but beggers can't be choosers.

Much of the time I'd just as soon play this as any of the myriad flying-granting blue spells and effects out there.

@Gatsumon: It's more like this.
Player 1: "I play Levitation."
Player 2: "I play Silklash Spider"
Player 1: "Unsummon Silklash Spider."
(Player 1 then counters the Spider when Player 2 attempts to re-cast)
Player 2: "FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

well, now that Innistrad is out, i now get to see a horde of flying zombies, especially after getting 13 on the field at once :). That in itself is hilarious and amazing. Plus this can almost give insta-wins in certain situations. Great card

"Why fight over scraps of land when there's so much sky waiting to be claimed?"

Because you can't tap the sky for mana.

This is a pretty powerful card, and perfectly costed at a casting cost of four.

I guess I would disagree that this card is "situational", at least more than any other card is situational. If your opponent has plenty of flyers, you can now block them. If they don't have many flyers, now all your creatures are pretty much unblockable. That's a pretty powerful effect.

4.5/5

Mildly playable in, say, a more Timmy-oriented Reaper King edh deck.
