Between this and Karametra, God of Harvests poor green got some pretty weak Gods. Obviously pretty much EDH fodder, if that. Maybe between all the Heartbeat of Spring type effects running around standard he's needed to be weak, but I doubt it.

@Drpvfx: And/or because Simic ALREADY has a way to get a good chunk of colored mana via Plasm Capture...

@Sanctuary Cat: Green Sun's Zenith? Pthbt. Try Chord of Calling instead...

Incredible commander! What a perfect merge between blue's craftiness and green's monsters. Run him with Squall Line and Hurricane to win with direct damage. Quicken + Gelatinous Genesis for a surprise army of mega ooze. Fable of Wolf and Owl + Ashnod's Altar to spam tokens, then refill your pool with them. Genesis Wave for 25? Yes, please. If you feel like having NO FRIENDS and making the world a bad place, you can run Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur both! Vorinclex to double the mana going into your pool, Jin to draw you tons of cards. Too much fun. This is a real win for EDH from this set.

I can see him as a very interesting EDH general that makes use of artifacts. All that mana becomes colorless, so just spam out artifacts.

I can only think MaRo & Co were sitting around one day daring each other to one up the last god in this set. I mean Pharika is ok, Phenax is a little better, and Keranos can get pretty nuts. Then there's this guy and Iroas. The only reason these guys aren't completely broken is because enchantment exiling has been made relatively easy.

Kuphrix, God of EDH

Someone at my playgroup said that this was a worse Omnath with reliquary tower slapped on to it

I don't see this guy as Omnath at all, because I feel that Kuphrix is much more versatile. Omnath is all about ramp and huge creatures, which is all fine and dandy. But Kuphrix is harder to kill, and gives a more controlish play style.

Great card, GUx players are happy for sure.
