I went to a local tourney in St. Louis and there was a casual trader there with a few duffel bags full of 3inch binders - low and behold; he had a playset of Black Lotus and two of each Mox ... people took pictures with their phones and ofcourse jokenly offered their entire binders to the guy just for one ... no trades were made that day but it's one I will never forget.

Best card ever printed and heres why: with this and threeDark Rituals in ur opening hand, you can have Nullstone Gargoyle,Spirit of the Night, Hand of Emrakul,Artisan of Kozilek,or a Demon of Death's Gate on turn one, and those are just 9 drop creatures. think of all the other combos for 9 mana on ur opening hand. i just listed bad ways to use it, too.

No duh this is a good card. But lets face it, I'd rather sell it and make a grand, then put it into my deck to be played casually against some of my friends. Lotus petal is a much weaker, less-broken alternative.

You could take a pair of scissors to this card and slice this into three pieces. Each one of those pieces would still be restricted/banned.
