First up - the 'infinite squirrel combo' does work, but would really require an infinite amount of turns given that your new squirrels are coming in with summoning sickness. Actually, it wouldn't work on that note - your deck would run dry well before you reach infinity.

In any case, it's a GREAT card. Yes, it helps your opponent, but don't let that fool you: the only risk is if they're also playing a tribal deck, and then you can always choose to hold it back for when it gives you the advantage.

It's in my soldier deck right now, and I couldn't imagine another tribe being able to make as many tokens as quickly, so it's got a snug little place. It's always nice dropping a Conquerors Pledge on turn 5, then Coat of Arms on turn 6 and possibly driving home the win with an offensive brave the elements to back it up.

Look at the card this way when playing white soldier weenie: Conqueror's Pledge gives you 6 tokens. Coat of Arms would give those tokens +5/+5 if they were the only soldier... (see all)

Uh, for whoever said it'd take an infinite amount of turns to get infinite squirrels: you really missed the Squirrel Nest + Earthcraft combo. REALLY missed it. You can create infinite squirrels in ONE turn, and while they cannot attack that turn, they sure can NEXT turn. Alternately, you could just have a Goblin Bombardment out instead of Coat of Arms, and deal infinite damage in the same turn.

I run a changeling deck with Peer Pressure and this. Normally your opponent's creatures would get huge bonuses off your changelings (although changelings do get buffed by every creature your opponent drops as well), but that doesn't matter as I can literally wipe his board clean of creatures, gaining control of all of them. It's fun but doesn't always work. For added effect add Unnatural Selection and/or include Amoeboid Changelings.

I want to like this card, but I used it against an elf deck once, and was severely punished for it.

I am considering using this in a soldier deck with conqueror's pledge and captain of the watch. I think to use this card effectively you need some token generators. Your opponent's creatures will usually have common creature types, so you should rely on simply pumping out more creatures than them.

Turns multiplayer games into massive headaches, each player has to count creatures before doing almost anything.

This is an awesome card though, same time also kinda sucks lol. Fun, but generally leery of this card, just for fun added it to a deck of mine just for the meer fun of it... I'm glad the art work has stayed the same the whole time :D Wish the Sengir Vampire card's art work had stayed the same too....

I personaly perfer door of destinies. I use it in a mono black zombie deck and cycle fleshbag maruader in and out of my graveyard to pump it up fast and to eliminate my opponents creatures. Really the best reason to use door over the coat of arms is to prevent your opponents from geting a bonus for their creatures, also it costs one less.
