At least they printed Pemmin's Aura in honor of Superman. Though the Aura could be short-lived.

Shannnnoonn, what's 3-9? I assure you it's not 0. Negative numbers exist in Magic. Don't believe me? Char-Rumbler. You're bringing Morphling to -6/12 with that first pump and 0/6 with the second, wasting 12 mana in the process.

5/5
Always was and always will be a great card.
I used to play mono blue control back in Urza days and this guy was my killing tool.
Though I agree, while he was once "God in cardboard form", he is now simply a powerful five mana investment. Unfortunately Wizards upped the ante and Morphling can't compete with a couple of the newer creatures. (Quicksilver Gargantuan being the most recent. Stormtide Leviathan, Chronozoa and Deep-sea Kraken are also cool.)
Personally what I do now is play a mono blue artifact control. My replacement for good old Superman was Master of Etherium. Keep in mind I also have 4 Blinkmoth Nexus, 4 Mishra's Factory and 4 Seat of the Synod.
Here's how it works:
The Master's p/t is based on the amount of artifacts you control. If he's alone on the field, he is 1/1. Synod is an artifact and an i... (see all)

Amazing once you have the mana to run him. Aside from just being effective on his own, all the Horseshoe Crab combos work with him as well.

Morphing has many diverse and useful applications such as:

Experiment Kraj
Viridian Longbow
Elemental Mastery

He is good at attacking, blocking, and getting value out of tapping creatures.

I couldn't agree more Paleopaladin. Even if damage on the stack rules HADN'T changed the recent mad dash by Wizards to make KeWl kRETures OMG!!!!! and thus giving us ridiculously efficient creatures (Wurmcoil Engine would've cost at least 8 back in Urza block, hell it would've cost at least 8 in Time Spiral block) would have meant Morphling would have been passed by, but now he's REALLY passed by. No more relevant to the best creature discussion these days than Juzam or Erhnam Djinn.
