Yep, that is a Goblin. Useful only because of the massive amount of goblin-boosting available for red. Power creep has obviously reduced this guy beyond practically any other one-drop, but you could still use them in EDH format, I guess.

This is slightly better than Eagar Cadet. It's red, so you can expect it to be worse than white creatures. That said, it's pretty awful.

At this point in time there were three goblins: this, Goblin Balloon Brigade and Goblin Artisans. So it was essential to a goblin deck. When more goblins arrived he was discontinued. So not a bad goblin at all.

Most if not all vanilla one-drop weenies have been powercreeped beyond playability. I do put them in decks I'm using to teach people how to play. In cases like that, simplicity is good.

With the strange and unneeded return of Merfolk of the Pearl Trident in M13, one cannot help but wonder if these goofballs will be reprinted? If that does happen, at least make Pashalik Mons into a legendary Goblin tribal leader.
