Underrated. For the casting cost of 4 mana, this is one of the biggest, toughest green common creatures. The upkeep drawback is minor, and this card is an improved Uktabi Efreet. A very good common card, and a good overall card. Great for pauper or common card decks. 4.5/5 stars.

Strictly better than Uktabi Efreet, generally better than Darba, but usually worse than Jade Leech.

Pros:
-4 mana for a 5/4 body is a very good deal even if its double green
-Un-boltable
-Un-smotherable
-Synergizes with Naya's 5 power triggers
-Cards like Mind Control are less effective against it unless they splashed green
-Cool art and flavor

Cons:
-Vanilla creature with an upkeep cost
-No Evasion and requires trample to avoid becoming chump blocked by token decks
-Like all big creatures without any form of shroud or protection, enemies casting cheap removals on it can really hurt your tempo.

Not a bomb, but considering it's common it's Ok.
Standard Legal alternatives for the P/T to mana ratio can be Woolly Thoctar for Naya Decks (Same P/T for 1 less cmc but requires W/G/R to cast) and/or Leatherback Baloth for Mono-Green Decks (4/5 P/T Vanilla for 1 less cmc but requires GGG to cast).

5/4 seems a little high for a leotau..thats like a dragon. Also, considering the knight riding them are only 2/2 usually 0_o...and that they are just slightly larger then actual lions.
They should have made them more Savannah Lion or Kird ape-ish such as a1 or 2 drop 2/1 with +1/+1 for owning certain land. 5/4 is awkward.

Leoatau can supposedly be very large, and dragons come in different sizes. Either way, it should have said something more like, pay 1 mana the turn after it comes under your control instead. As it is, not to different from imperiosaur, and in the same set as a creature with same stats for 3.
