This is one of the greatest Double Sided Swords.

Honestly, isn't it time for an art change? I mean, newer cards like Cancel got reprinted in near subsequent sets and re-arted, so why hasn't this one been re-arted yet?

I preferred the art from 7th edition
but about the card! Run it in my squirrel deck. Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest + Coat of Arms = infinite infinite/infinite squirrels
Really just amazing in any deck that uses 1 creature type and spams them

Because there's no reason to change great, iconic art like this.

I've been hunting for a pair of these for my soldier deck. A guy playing elves annihilated me with this card a while back--that was the first time I realized what it could really do. It was a death sentence.
True, it's risky that you might be giving the same advantage to your opponent, but it's a risk I'm willing to take. Odds are this banner will be flying in your favor more times than not, and having just an ounce of that kind of certainty in a deck would be very comforting to me when I'm going up against the unknown every Friday night.

This card is powerful for sure, but risky. I used my opponent's Coat of Arms against him last week. I beat him with 17/17 Sigil of the Empty Throne tokens while his army was being held back by various Pacifism effects. While I like "snowball" effects, I don't like helping my opponent, so this card will never be a favourite of mine. I don't mind Wizards reprinting it, but seriously, they should ditch this art.

I think the potential power increase is great, but it helps my opponent too.. makes this sort of situational. If my opponent is playing another tribal deck, or simply something with a lot of the same creatures in it, they get the exact same benefit I do. Assuming it doesn't just get removed since it takes 5 mana and by that point in the game theres usually some artifact destruction going around. All in all still a powerful card, works very nicely with sensei golden tail.

a must have an ANY tribal deck. One problem is that if your opponent has a tribal deck, he gets the bonus too. But in my EDH elf tribal with Rhys the Redeemed as a general, its always worth it.

how great would this card be in an ally deck?

This card is ridiculously versatile and I wouldn't mind having 4 of them in every creature based deck with the same subtype that I plan on making.
