It's a Mirran card. It's clearly 3 mana for 4 life loss and 1 card towards metalcraft. Why would anyone waste a destroy spell on a card that you can no longer use? Oh right, because now it's giving your creatures and other artifacts more power.

Why bother with all 'dat prolifirate if you can just sacrifice it instead on next turn? 4 damage and sac material for 3 is good deal, in my book.

This is a fine card, not a staple for every deck but good if used well.

Proliferate decks just seem like a lot of work for this. If anything, just getting some Voltaic Keys and those Vedalken guys to get Censer some more counters or use Power Conduit to send the counters to something that needs it more like Darksteel reactor or getting simply getting some charge counters.

Could probably work in a deck full of artifacts relying on charge counters like the reactor, some mana thing, or maybe Shriekhorn.

In other news, I love how the art seems like only one side was drawn and then the artist used a mirror filter for the other side and then made final changes so it didn't look like that. Efficient.

it actually says, "In two turns, your Bloodchief Ascension will be active and you will be spanking your opponent!".

Totally agree with the proliferate oriented deck idea. and then if it would ever deplete, you can still sacrifice it to a Throne of Geth or so. Also, I plan using an elixir of immortality with this to constantly renew it, with a black-blue deck.

Also I believe there's a mistake there. Shouldn't this card be part of the Phyrexian team?

This is four damage for three mana most of the time. In any color. That's pretty solid even without proliferate. Excellent with it.

Effectively reads "Whenever you proliferate, target player loses 2 life."
...Which seems a little redundant since whenever you proliferate, target player also gets another poison counter. Seems better outside of the block in a deck that's running proliferate and not infect.

These didn't make the cut for me in limited, but then, I didn't draw into any proliferate either.

1. Play Voltaic Key
2. Play Necrogen Censer
3. Use Necrogen
4. Use Voltaic Key
5. Instant 4 damage
