The original Akroma, Angel of Wrath.

The prot black actually has some downside, e.g., Animate Dead doesn't work.

I'm not sure, but I think prot black was also a storyline element. I wish I remembered better...

Someone (Kaervek) summoned the Spirit of the Night and it wiped out an entire gathering of leaders, or something like that.

Anyway, this would totally be deserving of Mythic status. It sure goes THUNK! when it hits the table.

So expensive, but super cool. Art works so well with the card. If only he had shroud it would be less scary to use. Maybe the coolest demon.

I remember getting this guy in a booster when I was much younger. I was so excited! Mirage and Tempest were good sets back then.

Protection from Black, First Strike, and Haste make this better than Demon of Death's Gate, more than making up for the 3 power difference.

Very few creatures have come along that overshadow the Spirit in the right deck. He remains on par with Akroma, Angel of Wrath and Sphinx of the Steel Wind.

Hey guys, the reason it's not a nightstalker is because it's supposed to be a demon spirit the nightstalkers worship. It isn't one, but they are it's minions.
