Glad to see you back, old friend. The red combat trick that no one expects.

The flavor text is still hilarious.

Then again, thanks for enforcing the "red is the stupid color" stereotype, Wizards. :/

I love how Planar Chaos made the traditional color pie take a break and sit out for a set. It's fun to bust out planar chaos cards in a game against your friends if they do not know about this set or might have forgotten about it, just for the WTF value.

I always squeal with delight when they reprint color shifted Planar Chaos cards. I love little tweaks to the color pie. It keeps the game fresh to me.

That's some really important rulings.

Anyway, very nice reprint. 5/5

I'm surprised they haven't thought of printing this after the Time Spiral block.
It's arguable that this is better than Giant Growth just because of the colour you're in. Although, it's really hard to rationalize this since Red is almost as, if not more, aggressive than Green.

That being said, Red hasn't been as supportive of creatures as Green has. That means that to take fuller advantage of this (and make sure it's not a dead-draw), you need to be playing a bunch of creatures. If you are, this kind of does the same as a Lightning Bolt would.

Anyway, thanks WotC for printing this in this set.

@martianshark: Funny guy, right here. I for one have had many arguments within the metagroup as to what set this came from. But as always Wizards had a swift and concise answer to my pressing mechanics predicament.

Oh fine, actual card usefulness commentary coming up. Combos with Nivix Cyclops and Armed//Dangerous for fourth turn kill. Lifegain or blockers left (even though if you're playing red there shouldn't be Pyroclasm)? Distortion Strikeor 2x Artful Dodge. Yeah, it's exactly as good as it looks.

I sincerely hope they never print this in a normal expansion set. It's a color-shifted special-wierd card from Time Spiral. I have trouble accepting it here, but I guess it's ok. Ok as in flavor. Of course it's GREAT play-wise.
