For affinity decks, this land is only second to Seat of the Synod. Useful in affinity, metalcraft and against Armageddons. A solid good card. Not really broken, that was affinity's fault.

"Hey guys, what about artifacts, that are LANDS! Nobody could possibly break that!"
-.-
This ones even worse, cause Creeping Corrosion doesn't kill it.

Every Darksteel booster I've bought has had either one of these or a Mirrodin's Core in it. Very handy, especially because there's this twerp in my playgroup that likes Armageddon effects.

A must-have play set. Used in multiple deck types (artifact and Army decks front runners).

Try it with Phylactery Lich ritualed out on turn two.

Ravager Affinity abused all the artifact lands to drop huge 4/4 threats by turn 2, only to keep you distracted as they played the really broken cards that followed. Banning was needed else no one would have bought a single Kamigawa booster pack until Mirrodin fell out of the format. >.>

@Esprel
It's banned in Mirroden because of Affinity, or so I've heard.

Bingo, TDL. They banned all of the artifact lands to make other decks viable...
