Mediocre semi-removal in blue. Doesn't really live up to the power of other "time" cards like time walk, time spiral, or time stretch

Solid on its own, its a big tempo loss even if the threat isn't gone forever. But combine with things like Thought Scour and maybe a few miracle cards like Temporal Master, and you got yourself some nice synergy. Time Ebb on your main phase and Thought Scour during their upkeep, doubles the chance of pulling off your miracle.

Or combo Time Ebb + Thought Scour with Rise from the Grave, or something of that nature. Also noteworthy that Time Ebb is an absolute monster in MTG Tactics.

Nasty in a tempo-based deck. I used the instant version for a G/U tempo deck I used to play and that deck was meeeean.

These cards can be devastating when they're played in the late game. That aggro deck really doesn't want to spend a turn or two drawing a 1 or 2 CMC card on turn 4 or 5.

However, this particular incarnation is no Azorius Charm or Temporal Spring or Plow Under.

Later colorshifted to white as Excommunicate. I'm a bit surprised why this is getting such negative reviews - it's useful tempo gain, and even though it's not instant speed, this can remove crucial blockers, delay an attacker, effectively eat up an opponent's draw, and also be used for hilarity in conjunction with Shapeshifter's Marrow or Booby Trap. This can be quite potent in slow formats, or in the correct deck.

I don t think so , having the card on top means that you will draw it and it s like skipping a draw phase .
