And now that Forced Adaptation is coming out, this has been obsoleted (outside of a few counter-themed EDH decks).

5/5 for being an awesome Timmy card while also giving Johnny a new toy :)

Not to mention, it's very elegant. Good job Wizards!

You could put this on a sacred wolf... but have you ever heard of a wolf in a cocoon? I thought not...

Eternal_Blue: Only problem with your version is that you would have to get the coccoon destroyed somehow to get the creature to be usable again.

This also would have been more interesting as: On ETB, exile a creature you control. On your upkeep, put a growth counter on the coccoon. Sacrifice the coccoon: Return the exiled creature to play with X +1/+1 counters on it, where X is the number of growth counters the coccoon had.

I'm giving this a 5 just because it made people fear my 5/6 Birds of Paradise at the prerelease.

I feel like they missed a chance to make this card more flavourful and less sucky. The aforementioned flying post cocoon stage is one way.

If the enchantment gave shroud it would be flavourful of a cocoon and really give some strategic playability to the card. For as long as you leave the cocoon on the creature they can't target it but you can't attack. The moment they choose not to leave open mana to burn/bounce/exile your cocooned creature, sac the enchantment and get at least one turn to attack with your creature. Probably still not constructed worthy but still better than this.

Player 1 : I'll go first. I'll play Ornithopter and attach Primal Cocoon to it and say go.
Player 2 : WTF?!?!
