He is great to drop as you get the free life and 2/2 wolf and there's always the possibility of getting him to flip. But like all the flip cards that's the impracticality of it. In constructed you have to rely upon your opponent missing a go (not likely to happen) or effectively skipping casting yourself (putting you at a disadvantage). You can pack in a Moonmist but that means the deck relies a bit upon a single card. I would still put down the Immerwolf because the +1/+1 in a wolfdeck gives huge advantage and most werewolves are best wolf side up. Also it makes things more predictable, as having a set of cards flipping all the time on the table could win or lose you the game.

That's why I'm surprised that this card has such high resale value... I've never seen one run in constructed.

somewhat useful, but in limited decks. over-rated.

I pulled 3 of them. 1 in a pack, 2 in 2 boxes I bought. I do like him depite thinking he's slightly overrated, and the fact that they made the immerwolf, totally makes him useless. I've been toying with the idea of a 60 card wolf deck for *** and giggles, he's going in, but immerwolf isn't.

Again only a 3 for him, between immerwolf spamming, the mayor, and all the other great things our werewolves do full time in werewolf mode I started leaving grizzly adams at home. Granted it was fun watching a player debate whether or not to send him back in to human mode and suffer another wolf token, or get chewed up by a bunch of lycanthropes, other than that meh.

I still don't see it folks. Everything you say this guy is great for I can do elsewhere. Mayor creates way more board advantage, does it sooner, does it cheaper, and buffs his wolves while he's at it. Please don't get me wrong, he's good, just not mythic good. He gets a 4 or 4.5 as a rare. Olivia Valderan agrees.

It's like someone at Wizards stole all of the abilities that should have been on other werewolves in Innistrad and dumped them onto this one werewolf, then cranked it up to mythic. I love this card and will probably be playing it, but why do most of the other werewolves get sucky abilities (or none at all) instead of being even a shadow of what this guy is?

Here's how to analyse how good a card is: you compare this card to the number of other cards that could nullify it. In this case, your opponent needs at LEAST two cards to nullify the advantage this card gives: Black Sun's Zenith for 2 and Shock, or Torpor Orb and Shock. Both options also affect your opponents somewhat, and will cost the opponent at least 3 mana. Now if this card's flip ability is also considered, the advantages provided is absurd.

To use this card most efficiently, use a mana sink ability on your next turn instead of casting a spell. This way, you will utilize the board instead of your hand, which is good, and you can also avoid getting disadvantaged by having it removed at the end of turn. Wolfbitten Captive and Kessig Wolf Run are good in this case.

In conclusion, even though this is priced at $17 on StarCityGames, it is still severely underestimated and grants the most assured and profitable advantage in Dark Ascension, and the only other comparable card is S... (see all)

Amazing card. Easily drop him third turn first turn Forest and Wolfbitten Captive or Young Wolf, second turn Mountain/Forest and Scorned Villager, then third turn Mountain/Forest , tap all three lands and the scorned villager, get Huntmaster of the Fells. Third turn, have a 2/2 Wolf, Huntmaster of the Fells, a Scorned Villager, and a Captive/Young Wolf. Fourth turn, maximize effect by dropping a Moonmist and another card PhyrexianColorlessRedColorlessRedRed, and you'll get Huntmaster's effects three times in two turns, not to mention buffed creatures and life gain. Excellent. 5/5

Play this in a deck with flashback instant spells and you can very easily see this guy flip close to every turn you have it out. It absolutely destroys if you play around it smartly. 5/5
