Garbage. Can't target black creatures? Completely not worth it. That's a sixth of all targets that make this card just something to discard.

I wonder why this was printed instead of Murder? Personally, I'd have preferred Murder, especially since Murder would probably have been deemed "common worthy", but this isn't a bad substitute.

Ah, it feels so good to have a true restriction on a black kill spell again. I know some hate it, but I really think it's cool that some black magic simply doesn't work on black.
No Banishing, no Doom, no Terror is enough on a Lord of the Pit, he comes from a place of Doom, Terror, and Banishment, which is exactly how I feel it should be.
Either way, glad it's back; I also happen to think the platinum uncommon symbol really looks good against all that black :)

I know there are plenty of players that disagree with me but this card in standard makes me want to play mono black. I don't want to play this card (except maybe in the sideboard) but I want to play mono black just to make those people that play four of this card feel stupid. There is nothing more frustrating than playing a game, looking at your hand and seeing completely useless cards there. That is usually the difference between winning and losing.
I have played off and on since Ice Age and I know that speed matters but this meta is going to be a little slower. Hero's Downfall only costs 1 more mana and DOES SO MUCH MORE!
Even things like Pharika's Cure, Devour Flesh, Away (of Far and Away) and Ultimate Price (even players that play more than one color play SOMETHING that is mono color) are better at least NONE of the cards I listed will be completely useless on a regular basis. (Oh, and btw, 3 of the 4 that I just listed cost the same amount of mana as Doom Blade).
