That was a nice limited bomb. I'm so unhappy it never hit standard, due to the lack of immediate impact for 7 mana. But still, I'm certain that in UW or UWR, when games went long, it would have been perfectly fine as 1-of. Next time maybe, my friend.

This guy is excellent for an EDH deck that is running Esper or U/W. His draw mechanic is excellent, and if you are running an aura deck, you can hit him with Indestructibility and some hexproof, you have a monster on the field. With Oloro, Ageless Ascetic as your commander, he is even more terrifying. I am sure in modern he will start to show up, but meh. EDH all day.

The card draw and double strike flying are worth 7 drop in my "lifelink deathtouch first strike" "small but nasty" boosted creature deck.

I use Somberwald Sage to give me 3 colored mana so he feels like a 4 drop, giving me early-mid game card draw from my 3 drop creatures with lifelink. Then I drop Angelic Destiny on him or soul bond him with Wolfir Silverheart and swing for 14 to finish.

The double strike is two lifelink events, so when he swings himself, that’s usually a two card draw, and I also have Ulvenwald Tracker causing lifelink events, so I can get 3-4 cards off him per turn.

Yes, the art needs work, but he’s function over form for me.
