If just this or Hatching Plans was Blue only, i'd have more fun building a deck around either or both of them.

But i guess for Blue only this might be too powerful, since it can be used as response to removal as Tommy9898 said.
I'd totally love this spell then though, especially since it spares my stuff from exile :D

Not bad. Draw two cards for 2 mana (instant) and sac. a creature. I'd probably play this in, say, a blue-black deck with ways to either recover the creature or just sac. an Oculus, or whatever.

You don't actually have to build a deck around it, just "in response to your creature removal, I draw 2 cards."

EXCELLENT! Instant speed draw 2 for 2?!
And its Vorthos-y! Best in a blue-black deck with death triggers.

I've been searching Gatherer high and low for some good card drawing. Of course, there's lots of good drawing, but thinking in the context of a deck: I like Ponder, Preordain, and Brainstorm, but would not spend more than 4-5 slots on the lot of them. Stacking is great, but it's not quite real drawing.

This is faster than Compulsive Research and Thirst for Knowledge, but not dumb-broken like Ancestrall Recall, or Frantic Search. Weighing the need for balance and the need for power together, this might be The best draw spell ever. Better than Ancestral Recall, only in the sense that it can actually be healthy for the game to let this be around, and not banned or restricted or anything. Would love to see a reprint in a Core Set.

Love this card in just about any deck utilizing non-land permanents. It's like a little kid,
"I'm going to destroy your *insert whatever*"
"NO I WANNA DO IT. AND I WANNA DRAW CARDS"
