The way the cape trails and blends in with the legs, you need to see it up close to not think that its actually not an abomination.
I mean, that cape looks like it could be its legs o.o For a while, I thought this was a zombie from the hips down... had to google a pic of this to view it close up and confirm the opposite. Art is just that detailed that from far away its hard to make out.

Would be good in limited. Too far below the curve in any form of constructed; Serra Angel is worlds better and is at the same rarity these days.
3 lifegain is laughable, and not worth a 1/1 hit.

Basic white fliers that are 3/3s seem to almost always cost 5 mana. With Angel of Mercy you practically get the three life for free. That said, I prefer the 8th edition mana. Seemed much more merciful to me.

Lifegain is an undervalued ability. If they doom blade this guy, you still got something out of the deal, unlike baneslayer angel.
