Seriously consider this in an elf deck. Most elf decks will have the mana spare to pull this out and it's a decent body to start beating/blocking with. The real beauty of the card comes with it's graveyard ability. If for some reason you are forced into a late game this card will push you ahead. Not only can you bring it back graveyard and cast it again, but it will draw you another card. I will often use this to attack late game even when I know it will die achieving nothing, just so I can bring it back and draw an extra card. This card is very powerful card advantage when you have the mana and a decent powered elf when it's in play.

Sort of reminds me of Reassembling Skeleton.

Besides avoiding Wrath like Sarisa mentioned, it's good in EDH for the cantrip and the fact that the mana he eats is less of a loss if you're playing in that format. Especially with green. Especially with elves.

Anyway, I run him in my EDH elf deck, and I have to say his art is my favorite in the deck. I also like the flavor. It's like they're part of a secret cult of relentless stalkers.

Too bad elves don't have the internet. I have a feeling these dudes would enjoy it.

Works quite nicely with Fauna Shaman. Nice in an elf deck!

If you're already using Coat of Arms to get super elves, drop these (to draw a card), then fire off a Mercy Killing. Suddenly you get a swarm of elves. Play another elf and they're back (and you can draw another card).

Not bad but I think I would rather use Wall of Blossoms, and in an elf deck there is always the two drop elvish visionary, which I personally use 4 of in my elf deck. It's quick and more importantly, it's cheap. Once you have out a pumper or two like Joraga Warcaller, Elvish Champion, Imperious Perfect, I could go on forever, Elvish Visionary gets bigger and more useful into the later turns. Overall, this card is a cool card and is unique, but Elves need cheap fast mana producers and power boosters. Just don't see it making the cut.

While not the best Survival of the Fittest support card, it's still good in an EDH deck. Also works nicely to recover from Wrath effects.
