@Stray_Dog: Not quite. Reknit would protect against effects that would specifically destroy Garruk, like a kicked Mold Shambler. If he's regenerated, his loyalty does not change.

When Garruk gets down to 0 loyalty (say from a bunch of creatures hitting him), he doesn't get destroyed, instead he gets put into your graveyard as a state-based effect. It's not like he's dying, he's just abandoning you, so regeneration will not replace lost loyalty or reset him.

Shatterstorm destroys artifacts and does not allow for regeneration.

@AlphaNumerical THink of regeneration as you the planeswalker, healing something just before it would normally die. It's kind of a last ditch effort to save something.

You could regenerate a totem armor aura (Hyena Umbra, Eel Umbra, etc.) that is about to save a creature it's enchanting, narrow as that application may be.

@brunsbr103: no it doesn't. You don't get the token unless the Terrastodon target actually dies. Regeneration prevents it from hitting grave.

@Stray_dog: you can't regenerate a state based effect, or even respond to a cost of an ability. (Garruk gets -4 counters, dies, then his ability goes on the stack). You can however, Regenerate a planeswalker about to be Vindicated.

Fun situational card. I got bored one day and made a random mostly artifact deck and threw this in there, imprinting it on Isochron Scepter pretty early in the game. My friend and his burn deck were not happy.

I'm having issues trying to understand how planeswalkers, lands, artifacts (non creature) and enchantments "regenerate". Interesting concept, and awesome card though.

Yeah... something like this always SEEMS like a good idea, until you actually attempt to play with it.
