This is kinda neat, its like flying but technicaly not, so destroy flying creature effects won't work on it.

The other advantage is that defenders with reach can't touch this guy either, so something like a Giant Spider doesn't help.

There are a couple of creatures like Silhana Ledgewalker and Gnat Alley Creeper which can't be blocked by flying creatures, making this an unblockable combo a la the old invisible Juggernaut.
