This used to be even better, becuase you could bounce a critter that had assigned combat damage and potentially get a 2 for 1. With something like Mystic Snake or Flametongue Kavu, both from the time and both of which saw play with this card, you're looking at 3 or 4s for 1 potentially.
I wish I was playing during that part of Magic's history.
