Love this card with Spellshock and Impatience. The good ol' damned if you do, damned if you don't deck.

In a RedWhite deck, this is a cheaper alternative to Urza's Armor as a way of turning Manabarbs into a one-sided effect. The aforementioned Painter's Servant makes this better than Urza's Armor.

Part of a six card cycle:
Sphere of Truth
Sphere of Reason
Sphere of Grace
Sphere of Law <-- You are here.
Sphere of Duty
Sphere of Purity

I think it's fair to assume that you run anything with a colour word in it with Painter's Servant. The spheres aren't bad, but you should probably run Story Circle or Circle of Protection: Whatever in your sideboard instead. I mean, the circles have a constant mana activation, sure, but it's worth it when you're facing down some big green 20/20 trampler and you want more than a couple of points worth of subtraction. Of course, when facing swarms, this seems like the better option. Not so. Go for things like Brigid, Hero of Kinsbaile instead, or Windborn Muse, or splash red for Powerstone Minefield (if you don't plan on attacking for awhile). Then your circles can soak up the excess.

Sphere of law is generally more useful than the others in the sphere of X cycle, simply because of the sheer number of red cards that effect everyone with damage. Sphere of Grace is nice for Pestilence decks since each activation is a separate source, but Sphere of Law is good with...

Sulfuric Vortex
Pyrostatic Pillar
Steam Blast
Cave-In
Volcanic Fallout
And the other cards which have already been mentioned.

Good with red spells and permanents that deal damage to all players.

I always forget, if I have multiples of these out, do each of them trigger? For instance, if I have 2 Sphere of Law and someone deals 4 damage to me from Blaze, do I instead not get damaged at all?

Good luck winning with your mono-red burn deck, now that I'm negating 33% (Ball Lightning) to 66% (Lightning Bolt) of all your damage.

Obviously the best out of the cycle. Could see some nice sideboard play verse RDW, and they cannot blow up enchantments. Turns lightning bolt into hornet sting.
