he can't target artifact creatures... only plain old artifacts. plus, there are a lot of killer artifacts with costs cheap enough to merit this monkey: moxes, black vice, rack, ivory tower, voltaic key, etc. all dead for 3 colorless or less. sounds decent to me.

Useful for aggro decks. You get an artifact removal packed with a creatures, so no need to waste another slot for it.

So to use the ability, if the creature you wanted to destroy had a CMC of 4, you'd have to pay 441? Basically, are you paying its CMC twice plus one colorless?
