The problem isn't that it's a bad card. It's not, really. It's not even so much that you can probably get a decent regenrating non-wall creature for three mana in black (Sanguine Guard, for example, trading +1/+0 for First strike and the ability to actually attack, which I hear is useful). It's that what you want from a wall is survivability, not power. This wall has regeneration going for it. But generally, if this thing can't attack, you want to hope that it can soak up some damage, and do it for cheap. You need to leave two mana open for this guy to do what it's meant to do. And since nearly any enemy creature can break apart your wall with ease, you need to make sure those open lands never do tap if you value your investment.

This is probably why walls that act more like walls have been favoured for modern reprinting. Compare Wall of Bone. It's clearly easier to leave the one mana open than two, and during the early game, you can even ta... (see all)

too many cards out there that are so much better than this to consider playing. Mabye in some 8th edition draft tournament.

then again, if you are looking for a defender with high power that can regenerate, I cant think of another option. Mabye Wall of Pine Needles? but then again that's only if you'r playing green.

Cool! It's a Wall of Bone, but crappier! Neat!

Walls with high power are secretly awesome. Not all that playable, just really cool. Wall of Razors and Carnivorous Plant come to mind.

Well, it's alright. Most walls don't hit back, and most don't bother to stick around for another attack.
