Very good card against those annoying Mirrodin-block affinity decks. Even if artifacts are cancelled by cards like Null Rod they still cause damage. Fun to combo with cards that turn cards into artifacts...but those are few and far between. Definate side-board material though. Unless you want to redirect damage done with it every turn and use a ton of artifact land yourself...

Very strong punisher of artifacts for sideboards and "bleed" decks. Much more useful on vintage that in any other format, due to the omnipresence of mana artifacts, life gainers and lock pieces that take a lot of turns to win the game. Its usefulness is now lower due to the popularity of Umezawa's Jitte and it's superior cousin Null rod.
